Mary Davitt Rites Planned

Services for Mrs. Mary Davitt, 86, a resident of the Irish Settlement near Cumming since 1902, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in the settlement. Burial will be in the cemetery there.

Mrs. Davitt died Tuesday at the Rest View Nursing Home, 1211 Pleasant St., after a 10-year illness. She was born in County Clare, Ireland.

The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Dunn Funeral Home here.

Surviving are three sons, Phillip of Indianola, James of Fairfield and Aaron of Des Moines; three daughters, Mrs. John Watts of Norwalk, Mrs. Robert Bickhaus of Quincy, Ill., and Mrs. R. V. Isaacs of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. James Waldron of Des Moines and 22 grandchildren.
