Mrs. Sue Thompson Dies at 99 Years

Mrs. Sue M. Thompson of Winterset, died last Thursday, Dec. 23, at Madison County Memorial hospital in Winterset, at the age of 99 years.

Mrs. Thompson had been living in Winterset since 1958, coming here from Michigan. She was the mother of Mrs. Anice Haun of this community.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Atchison county, Missouri, on Jan. 25, 1866. She was a daughter of Henderson and Mahala Harrington Hawkins.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Haun of Winterset and Mrs. Agnes Murphy of Atlanta, Ga.; two sons, Edward Thompson of Burlingame, Calif., and Milton Thompson of Lansing, Mich.; eight grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Everett K. Burham, pastor of the First Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
