Mrs. Anna Martha Niblo, 98, of 3520 Grand Avenue in Des Moines died at her home Sunday morning, July 19 after several years of failing health. She was the former Anna Jack, and was born in Boone, Iowa, but she had lived in Winterset and Madison county for many years.
She came to this county with her parents when she was a girl, and was a school teacher before her marriage to William Niblo, March 12, 1889. They first lived on a farm on the West Star road but he bought a drug store on the west side of the square in 1900. They were the parents of three sons, Clyde, Rollo and Raymond.
The husband and father died in 1923, while he was still in the drug store, and in 1927 she went to Vinton where she was associated with the Iowa School for the Blind until 1951. Since then she has lived in Des Moines and has lived in Wesley Acres since it was started.
Mrs. Niblo was a member of the Windsor Presbyterian church in Des Moines. Graveside services were held at the Winterset cemetery Tuesday, July 21 at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. George Dimmitt in charge.
Survivors include a son, Raymond C. Niblo of Des Moines, two granddaughters, six great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. Two sons have preceded her in death, Dr. Clyde Niblo and Rollo Niblo.

Mrs. Anna M. Niblo, 98, of 3520 Grand Ave., died at home Sunday morning. She had been in failing health for two years.
Born in Boone, she had lived in Winterset, where her husband operated a drug store before his death in 1923. Subsequently she moved to Vinton before coming to Des Moines 23 years ago. She was a teacher before her marriage.
Mrs. Niblo was a member of Windsor Presbyterian Church. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Winterset.
Survivors include a son Raymond C. Niblo, Des Moines; two granddaughters, six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
