Winterset Rites for Della Bruce

Della E. Bruce, a native of Winterset who had lived in California for 45 years, died June 15 at Long Beach. She was 79 years of age.

Miss Bruce was born here Aug. 2, 1884, a daughter of Francis and Harriett Templeman Bruce. She graduated from Winterset High school and Simpson college in Indianola. Following the death of her father in 1918, she moved to California.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Sage of New Briton, Minn., and Mrs. Annie Niblo of Winterset.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. John C. Porath, pastor of the First Methodist church of Winterset. Burial was made in the Chase-McDonald cemetery in Madison county.
