C. E. Anderson Died Saturday

Scott Township Resident Dies at Age of 82 Years

Charles E. Anderson of Scott township died at his farm home in that community Saturday, June 1, at the age of 82 years.

Mr. Anderson was born in Warren county Sept. 3, 1880, a son of Joseph and Rachel Bridges Anderson. His life was spent in farming.

He was married April 2, 1914 to Martha Webert, who survives him. In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Russell Anderson, and a daughter, Mrs. Dean Emerson, both of Peru; four grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, in charge of the Rev. Donald C. Howard of Ankeny. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.

Coordinator's note: Transcribed as published, he was 2 years old in the 1880 Federal Census and also listed his birth as September 1877 in the 1900 census. The 1880 year of birth listed herein and on his gravestone is likely erroneous. His middle name is from his World War II Draft Registration.
