Page 15Leslie R. Caudle Dies at 75 Years
Had Lived 62 Years on Same Farm in Jefferson Township
Leslie R. Caudle, widely-known Jefferson township farmer, died last Wednesday, May 15, at Memorial Hospital in Winterset, after an extended illness. He was 75 years of age.
Mr. Caudle was a native of Hamilton county, where he was born Jan. 7, 1888, a son of Aaron O. and Johanna Pehrson Caudle. Most of his life was spent in Madison county, and he had lived on the same farm in Jefferson township for 62 years. His life was spent in farming.
During World War I he served with the U.S. armed forces, and was a member of Green Rogers post of the American Legion in Winterset. He was affiliated with the Evangelical U.B. church of Van Meter.
Mr. Caudle was married in 1921 to May Olsen of Winterset, who survives him. He also leaves two sons, Phillip C. and Loren V. Caudle of Winterset; a daughter, Mrs. Naomi Poe of West Des Moines; eight grandchildren; a brother, M. C. Caudle of Sheffield, Ala.; and a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Allen of Bellflower, Calif.
Funeral services were held Saturday from the Collins Funeral home, conducted by Rev. Clifford Carter. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
