Lee Cochran of Macksburg Dies

Life-Long Resident There Dies at 86 Years of Age

Forest Lee Cochran, life-long resident of the Macksburg community, died Saturday, June 22, at the age of 86 years.

Mr. Cochran was born at Macksburg, Feb. 10, 1877, a son of Wesley Cochran, Sr., and Elizabeth Hamblin Cochran. He was married at Winterset, on July 19, 1899, to Ethel Terry. They were parents of seven children, three sons dying in infancy, and a daughter, Mrs. Pauline Ross, also preceding him in death.

His life was spent in farming in the Macksburg community.

His wife preceded him in death also. He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Cochran of Des Moines and Mrs. Dorothy Smid of Creston; a son, Wesley Cochran of Lorimor; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ira Tucker.

Funeral services were held June 25 from the Macksburg Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Frank. Burial was made in Moon cemetery at Macksburg.
