Harvey Gripp of St. Charles Dies

Resident There 55 Years Dies at Des Moines Hospital

Harvey C. Gripp, a resident of the St. Charles community for 55 years, died last Thursday, Oct. 24, at a Des Moines hospital. He was 76 years of age.

Mr. Gripp was born at Thayer Sept. 28, 1887, a son of Lee and Eleanora Hullinger Gripp. During his active life-time he engaged in farming, served as an automobile dealer, and as a county road maintenance man.

He was married Dec. 26, 1910, to Hattie Heath, who survives him. He also leaves four children: Mrs. Lola Bennington of Terrill, Leroy Gripp of Mason City, Lloyd Gripp of Lehigh, and Mrs. Doris Reed of Truro; a brother, Kenneth Gripp, and a sister, Mrs. Stella Chillcote, both of California; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday from the St. Charles Methodist church, conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Howard Cho. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.
