Clara Leander Services Held

Clara M. Leander of Afton, died Tuesday, December 4, at the Afton Care Center at the age of 82. Funeral services were held on Thursday December 6 at Bickford - Murray Funeral Home in Greenfield with Rev. Richard T. Hohl officiating. Burial was at Greenfield Cemetery.

Born in Audubon County on July 30, 1897, she was the daughter of Jesse and Helena Anderson. She was married to George Leander of Cass County on March 7, 1917.

Among survivors are five children, Raymond Leander of Lewis, Helen Macumber and Velma Weeks, both of Winterset, Betty Vorrath of Creston and Major Benny Leander of Ft. Snelling, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lillian Christensen of Elk Horn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George, and a grandson, LeRoy Leander.
