St. Charles Rites for Geneva Pahre

Geneva Pahre of Des Moines, formerly of St. Charles, died Sunday, May 4, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 85.

Born in St. Charles, she had lived in Des Moines the past 30 years.

The daughter of George and Emma Stiffler Neal, she was united in marriage to Herbert Pahre. He preceded her in death in 1943. She was a member of the St. Charles Methodist Church and Grace United Methodist Church in Des Moines.

Among the survivors are five children, Wendell Pahre of Seattle, Wash., Warren Pahre of Des Moines, Bob Pahre of Denver, Colo., Richard Pahre of Corvallis, Ore., and Helen Jones of Lebanon, Mo.; five sisters, Iloe Stubler of Seattle, Wash., Iris Bell of Sacramento, Calif., Edith Winter of Ontario, Calif., and Bea Bishop and Gladys Black, both of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the St. Charles Methodist Church with Rev. Rolland Towell officiating. Burial will be at the St. Charles Cemetery.
