June Irene German, 71, of Des Moines, formerly of Winterset, died Sunday, July 22, at Medicenter in Des Moines. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, at Collins Funeral Home. Burial was at the Winterset Cemetery with Rev. David Livingston officiating.
Born on June 6, 1908 in Des Moines, she was the daughter of Carl A. and Irene Elizabeth Gray Ponx. Mrs. German lived in Winterset 20 years before moving to Des Moines where she lived for 35 years. She was employed as a cook.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. Surviving are two sons, Charles Vernon Traster of Indianola and Cecil Melvin Traster of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother, Carl Ponx of California; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
