Death of Mrs. Elizabeth Werts

Van Meter, March 26 - Special -

Mrs. Elizabeth Werts died Sunday morning, March 24, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. F. Fritz, following a siege of the flu from which she failed to rally.

She was 82 years old and has two sons, Albert A. Werts, of Grand Island, Nebraska, and George Werts of Earlham, and two daughters, Mrs. Ira Wright of Milo, and Mrs. Martha Fritz.

The funeral was held at one o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Episcopal Church, and the burial was at Penn Center.

Penn and Otherwise

On Tuesday afternoon, March 26, grandma Werts as who she was lovingly called by friends and neighbors, was laid to rest in the Penn Center cemetery. On account of weather and road conditions, the funeral services were held at Van Meter where she died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fritz.
