Three Deaths Tuesday Morning

Notice has been received as the deaths of three local residents Tuesday morning. Services are pending from Collins Funeral Home for Julia King and Lola Davis of Winterset and for Helen Martha Beck of St. Charles.

Miss King died of an apparent heart attack at her home in Winterset Monday night or early Tuesday morning. There will be a Rosary at Collins Wednesday evening, Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. services for Miss King will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Winterset, Thursday, August 19 at 10:00 a.m.

Mrs. Lola Davis, 79, died Tuesday at Madison Manor North Nursing Home where she was a resident. Services will be held at Collins Funeral Home Thursday, August 19 at 1:30 p.m. with burial at Earlham Cemetery.

Services for Helen Beck, 74, will be held from Collins, Friday, August 20 at 10:30 a.m.

Services for Helen Beck

Funeral services work conducted Friday, August 20 at 10:30 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Helen Martha Beck. She died Tuesday, August 17, 1976 at Villa West Care Center in Winterset at the age of 74.

--------------------- county, Mrs. Beck was born February 2, 1902, the daughter of John Hakes and Martha Kimball Hakes. She lived in Madison County, a member of the St. Charles community for about 18 years.

The marriage of Virgil Beck and Helen Beck took place, February 29 1920, in Des Moines. Mrs. Beck was occupied as a housewife and was most recently affiliated with the Linn Grove Methodist Church. She was also active in the Waukee Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil, and three brothers, Clarence Hakes of Martendale, Ward Hakes of Norwalk, and Ralph Hakes of Dallas Center and three sisters, Mae Conard, Adel, Myrtle Lowery, of San Jose, California, and Alma Crawford, Indianola.

Burial for Helen Martha Beck was performed at the Waukee Cemetery, Rev. Eldon Ringer officiating.
