Van Nordstrand Death Sunday

Private funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home for Curtis John Van Nordstrand. He died Sunday, March 19, 1978, at Memorial Hospital at the age of 69.

Mr. Van Nordstrand was born February 14, 1909, in Des Moines, the son of John and Henrietta Loretta Jackson Van Nordstrand. He was married to Loretta Masters on August 12, 1948, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives her husband.

Mr. Van Nordstrand was occupied as a steampipe fitter and was affiliated with the Lutheran church. He lived in this county for about two years, a resident of the DeSoto community.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta; two daughters, Susan Wachter of Winterset and Diane Wieman of Des Moines; a sister Mabel Swisher of Minnesota; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery, Pastor Robert Toso officiated.
