Workman Dies of Heart Attack

Robert Lee Miller, 50, a carpenter, was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital Friday, December 16, after he suffered an apparent heart attack on the Eugene Alexander farm in Douglas township, about one mile northwest of Winterset.

Alexander said he and Miller were working together when Miller collapsed and fell a short distance from a step ladder leaned against a wall.

Miller was transported by ambulance to Winterset.

A resident of this county for 48 years, Mr. Miller was born April 22, 1927 in Truro, the son of Will and Helen Husted Miller. He was married June 3, 1955, to Ruth Patterson in Winterset.

Mr. Miller was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth; twin sons, Charles Larry and Robert Garry Miller; a daughter, Antonia Harrell; a sister, Martha Zierke and his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foreman of Winterset.

He was preceded in death by his father, Will Miller.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home, Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Burial was made at the Winterset Cemetery.
