Minnie S. Jensen, a resident of Madison County the past 27 years, died Sunday, May 29, 1977. She was born in Hanover, Germany, on July 31, 1898, to Willhelm and Sophia Hemme, the fifth of nine children.
In 1923 Mrs. Jensen came to the United States and resided with an aunt and uncle named Kolscheen in Pingree, North Dakota. She married Arnold W. Jensen on March 11, 1933, and moved to Iowa in 1934, living at Jewell, Alden, Popejoy, Ellsworth and finally at Winterset in 1950.
Mrs. Jensen is survived by her husband Arnold, one son James, his wife Ethel and five grandchildren of Washington, Illinois. Also surviving are three sisters living in Germany. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Jensen was active in the community through organizations such as the Farm Bureau, garden clubs, and the Methodist Church. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel Congregation.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 4, at 1 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home.
