Margaret Carter Services Today

A former nursing home operator living in Madison County the past 48 years, Margaret Mary Carter, 79, died Monday, January 3, 1977, at Madison Manor South Nursing Home in Winterset.

The daughter of William T. and Mary Jane Clark Edwards, Mrs. Carter was born May 7, 1897, in Rapid City South Dakota. She was married to William A. Carter on February 14, 1923 in Rapid City.

Mr. Carter preceded his wife in death on November 5, 1962.

Surviving Mrs. Carter is one brother, Ted Edwards of ------------------, ----- Thieman of Bake Park, Iowa, Maxine Hall of Mesa, Arizona; and three nephews, Gene Wagner and Garland Wagner of Poplar Grove, Illinois and Dyle Martin of Clear Lake, Iowa.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters.

Funeral services for Margaret Carter were conducted Wednesday, January 5 at 10:00 a.m. from Collins Funeral Home with burial at the Winterset Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. Newton Coughenour.
