Services For Gail Smith

Forty-seven-year-old Gail Lee Smith, a native of Vining, Oklahoma, died Saturday, February 26, 1977, at Madison Manor North nursing home in Winterset. He was born October 22, 1929, the son of Lewis S. and Ruby V. Elkins Smith.

A resident of Madison County for 33 years, Mr. Smith moved here from Jet, Oklahoma. He was a veteran of the Army Military Police and a construction worker, affiliated with the Protestant faith.

Survivors include two sons, Rodney Lee Smith and Kevin Bart Smith, both of Winterset; one daughter, Twila Jean Smith of Winterset; five brothers, Forest of Decatur, Arkansas, Omer of Maize, Kansas, Millaro of Maui, Hawaii, Garold of Hampton, Virginia, Floyd W. of Lorimor, Iowa and two sisters, Mrs. Verla Stanley of Maize, Kansas and Mrs. Millie Rose of Clinton, Oklahoma.

Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.

Funeral services for Gail Lee Smith were conducted Tuesday, March 1, at 1:30 p.m. from Collins Funeral Home with burial at Moon Cemetery, Macksburg. Rev. Lloyd Miller of Iowa City officiated.

Military graveside services were observed by Green Rogers Post 184 of the American Legion.
