Walter Egy is Dead at 82

Walter Egy, a lifetime resident and farmer in Madison County, died at Madison Manor North here last Wednesday, October 2. He was 82 years of age.

Mr. Egy was born in Madison County on June 5, 1892, the son of David P. and Mertie Rehard Egy. His lifetime here was devoted to farming from which he retired in 1968.

Mr. Egy was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include three brothers and two sisters: Ray, Joe and Claude Egy, all of Winterset; Mrs. Lilly Johnson of Stuart and Mrs. Hazel Case of Newton.

Mr. Egy was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, October 5, at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset with the Dr. Paul Hann officiating. Burial with military graveside services was in the Winterset Cemetery.
