Rites Held for Lawrence Hymes

Funeral services were held this Monday for Lawrence Hymes of Winterset, who died at the New Haven Rest Home in Des Moines last Friday, October 4. He was 83 years of age.

Mr. Hymes was born in Winterset on February 4, 1891, the son of Milton and Elizabeth Hymes. He lived in Madison county his entire lifetime, and was a retired painter.

He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Winterset.

Mr. Hymes is survived by a twin sister, Florence Hymes of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and two brothers.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 7 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. H. E. Borum officiating. Burial was in the Union Chapel Cemetery.
