Mabel Paullin Services Held

Funeral services were held here last Friday for Mabel C. Paullin of Winterset, who died at Madison County Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, July 24. She was 88 years of age.

Mrs. Paullin was born at Winterset on October 25, 1885, the daughter of Coates and Clara Orris Wilson. She was married to Harry D. Orr at Des Moines on December 1, 1909, and was preceded in death by him. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, E. H. Paullin of Winterset, whom she married September 25, 1940.

Mrs. Paullin was a resident of Madison County all her life, except for five years spent in Colorado.

She was affiliated with the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Claude Orr and Hal Orr of Winterset, and a daughter, Kathryn Benoit of Des Moines. She is also survived by a stepson, Guile Paullin of Winterset, and a stepdaughter, Mildred Resum of California. In addition, six grandchildren also survive, as well as one sister, Myrtle Tompkins of Dallas, Texas.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 26 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. Charles Updike officiating. Burial was in the Winterset Cemetery.
