Nellie Bailey Services Held

Nellie Louise Bailey, a longtime resident of Madison County, died at Madison Manor North in Winterset this Sunday, April 7. She was 87 years of age.

Mrs. Bailey was born at Ramsey, Illinois in June 2, 1886, the daughter of Frederick and Belle Jones Brown. She was married to James Ishmael in Illinois in 1906. He preceded her in death in 1911.

In 1920 she was married to Everett Daniel Bailey in Canton, South Dakota.

Mrs. Bailey had been a Madison County resident for the past 54 years. She was affiliated with the Baptist Church.

Survivors include four children: Evelyn Ishmael Howard of Winterset; Arlene Bailey Morgan of Lone Pine, California; Lloyd Bailey of Omaha; and Wilma Bailey Olson of Sacramento, California. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, her husband and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 10 at the Collins Funeral Home in Winterset, with the Rev. H. E. Borum officiating. Burial was in Union Chapel Cemetery.
