Paxton Death Last Wednesday

Ray J. Paxton, a farmer in the Lorimor area since 1930, died Wednesday, October 17, 1973 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. He was 74 years of age.

Born January 19, 1899, Mr. Paxton was the son of Joseph Paxton and the former Emma Johnson. He was born in Mountain Grove, Missouri.

Mr. Paxton was married February 11, 1920 in Clarinda, Iowa to Minnie Meyer who preceded him in death in April of 1969. Mr. Paxton married Louise Von Dielingen on June 6, 1970. Her death occurred in October, 1972.

Survivors include two daughters: Pauline Spencer of Peru and Maxine Witt of Macksburg; two sons, Dillard of Lorimor and Duane of Milton, Florida; 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Also surviving Mr. Paxton are three sisters: Mrs. Flora Glenn of California, Mrs. Edna Brasher of Lubbock, Texas, Mrs. Bea Brasher of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and two brothers: Roy Paxton of Moline, Illinois and Art Paxton of Lorimor.

Mr. Paxton was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Funeral services for Ray Paxton were conducted Saturday, October 20 at 1:30 p.m. from the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Winterset with burial at the Peru cemetery. Pastor E. R. Zaiser officiated.
