Homer Smith, 63, Dies Suddenly At Home This Morning

Homer Smith, 63, died suddenly at his home, 401 S. Birch street at 1:30 a.m. today.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith and was born May 5, 1881, in Madison county. He married Emma Jane Abell in 1901 who preceded him in death March 4, 1920. In 1920 he moved to Creston from Curtis, Neb. Smith was a farmer and a trucker during his life.

He was a member of the Salvation Army church.

Surviving are five sons and daughters, Dollie Smith, Frances Brown, Oriel and Vedah Smith, all of Creston, Robert Smith of Charles City, and Mabel Bauman of Falls City, Neb., six brothers and sisters, Elsie Hudson of Panora, Iowa, Lottie Reeder of Greenfield, Mary Stores of Illinois, Burt Smith of Mt. View, Mo., Jay Smith of South Dakota and 12 grandchildren.

Funeral services have not been completed pending word from relatives.

Burial will be at Graceland cemetery.

Last Rites Today For Homer Smith

Funeral services for Homer Smith, 63 years old, farmer and trucker, were held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Salvation Army hall, Captain McCalip in charge.

Mr. Smith died suddenly Thursday morning at his home, 401 S. Birch street.

Pallbearers were Rex Wiley, Lloyd Kinny, J. Wainwright, Harold Abell, W. D. Emerson and Frank Blanchard.

Burial was in the Graceland cemetery.
