Hallie R. Wood Died Here June 12

Funeral services were held June 15 from the Overton Funeral home in Indianola for Hallie R. Wood, whose death had occurred June 12 at Madison Manor in Winterset. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Mr. Wood, who was 76 years of age, had been a resident of Madison county since 1913. He was a native of Marion county, where he was born Oct. 5, 1893, a son of Noah J. and Viannah Colton Wood.

His early life was spent in Marion county, but the family moved to Madison county, near St. Charles, about 1913. He engaged in farming for several years. He later lived in Chicago and in Des Moines until he became ill in 1962. He was in nursing homes at Indianola until this February, when he was moved to Madison Manor in Winterset.

Mr. Wood was a veteran of World War I. He attended the Primitive Baptist church all his life, and was a member of the Middle River Primitive Baptist church at Winterset for 47 years.

Nearest surviving relative is a sister, Beulah Durham of Indianola.
