Services Held For Evelyn O. Young

Funeral services were held Sept. 1 from the First United Methodist church in Winterset for Mrs. Evelyn Young of St. Charles, whose death had occurred Aug. 29 at Madison Manor nursing home in Winterset.

The Rev. Everett K. Burham pastor of the Winterset church, conducted the services. Burial was made in the St. Charles cemetery.

Mrs. Young was 76 years of age at her death. She was the former Evelyn Johnson, daughter of Burton W. and Luna Belle Jones Johnson, and was born at Ackworth on March 13, 1893. She married at Indianola on Sept. 24, 1913, to Bert A. Young. For 23 years she had lived on a farm near St. Charles.

Mrs. Young was a member of the United Methodist church at Winterset.

She is survived by two sons, Gene A. Young of Long Beach, Calif., and Norman A. Young of St. Charles; a daughter, Mrs. Andrew Petersen of Truro; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Ritter of Austin, Minn.
