Wednesday, February 19, 1969Mrs. Alice Shilt Dies at 91 Years
Mrs. Alice Shilt of Winterset, a resident of Madison county the last 27 years, died Friday, Feb. 14, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 91 years of age.
Mrs. Shilt was a native of Alpha, Ill., where she was born July 23, 1877, a daughter of Alexander and Jenney Watson Kennedy. She was married in Kansas City, Kan., on Oct. 9, 1912, to Andrew O. Shilt. His death occurred in 1957.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mike McCarthy, Sr., of Winterset; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Kennedy of St. John, Kan.
Funeral services were held Monday from the Wilson Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. Charles Updike, pastor of the Winterset Foursquare church. Burial was made in the Winterset cemetery.
