Phyllis H. Weinrich, 93, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Parkridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Pleasant Hill.
Phyllis was born July 4, 1919 in Winterset, Iowa to Jesse and Ellen Schoen. She graduated from East High School and was a proud alumnus. Phyllis and her husband Russell owned and operated the Vine Street Food Shop in West Des Moines for many years. She enjoyed playing the organ and was an amazing cook. Phyllis was a member of Simpson United Methodist Church.
Phyllis is survived by her grandson; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell; son, Donald; and her brother, Wayne Schoen.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. followed by burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to East High School in loving memory of Phyllis.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Parkridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care and compassion Phyllis received.
