Dewey Conner Died on Feb. 13

Well-Known Farmer in Lee Township Was 69 Years of Age

Hugh C. “Dewey” Connor, a well-known farmer in the Irish settlement of Lee township, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 69 years of age.

Mr. Connor was born in Madison county July 6, 1898, a son of Stephen and Mary Murray Connor. Most of his life was spent farming in Madison county.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic church in Lee township.

He never married and nearest surviving relatives are his two sisters, Anna and Mayme Connor of near Cumming.

Rosary was recited Friday evening from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset. The funeral services were held Saturday from St. Patrick’s church, in charge of the Rev. Daniel Clark. Burial was made in St. Patrick’s cemetery.
