Death Occurred Sunday for Well-Known Resident, Aged 54 Years
Dale C. Foreman of Macksburg died Thursday, Dec. 1, at Memorial Hospital in Winterset. He was 54 years of age.
Mr. Foreman was born near Winterset May 7, 1912, a son of Frank and Myrtle Cornelison Foreman. With the exception of three years, his life was spent in Madison county. He engaged in farming until 1957, after which he was employed by the Macksburg Telephone company for six years. He then operated a produce and feed business in Macksburg until failing health forced his retirement.
He was married March 9, 1931, to Orpha Younkin of Lorimor.
As a young man he was a member of the Christian church, later transferring to the First Baptist church in Lorimor.
He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge in Macksburg.
A son, and two grandchildren preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Donald Foreman of Afton, Gailen Foreman of Macksburg, Merlin Foreman of Arvada, Colo., and Alan Foreman at home; his step-mother, Mrs. Alta Foreman of Lorimor; and two sisters, Mrs. J. G. Van Rossum and Mrs. W. H. Goodman of Winterset.
Funeral services were held Sunday from the Macksburg Methodist Church, with the pastor, the Rev. Mrs. Richardson, and the Rev. Mr. Nelson of the Lorimor Baptist church, officiating. Burial was made in the Moon cemetery.
