Pg 6Mark E. Cooper of Winterset Dies
Mark E. Cooper, a life-time resident of Madison county, died Sunday, May 22, at Memorial hospital in Winterset. He was 76 years of age.
Mr. Cooper was born in this county Feb. 15, 1890, a son of William and Lucy Shepard Cooper. His active life was spent in farming.
He was married in 1915 to Fay Cole. His second marriage in 1937, was to Dorothy Cook Ball.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Viola L. Jackson of California; a step-daughter, Mrs. Leland Hope of Winterset; a step-son Kenneth Ball of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; a brother, George Cooper of Des Moines; and a sister, Mrs. Rose Thompson of Dunlap.
Funeral services were to be held this Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Wilson Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Willard Wyatt of Des Moines. Burial was to be made in Union Chapel cemetery.
