Robert Dunn of Winterset Dies

Was Well-Known Business Man During Long Life in Winterset

Robert C. Dunn, a well-known Winterset citizen most of his life, died this Wednesday morning, Nov. 9, at Memorial hospital here. He was 74 years of age.

Mr. Dunn had returned to Winterset several months ago, after living six years in Colorado. Prior to that, his life had been spent in Winterset. He was born in this county April 7, 1892, a son of Grant and Samantha Trester Dunn.

For many years, Mr. Dunn was engaged in the tire business in Winterset, in partnership with Eldon Wilson. He was active in community affairs, serving as a member of the Winterset city council for many years.

He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in this community.

Mr. Dunn was married Nov. 26, 1913, at Winterset to Edna E. Jackson, who survives him. He also leaves a son, Patrick Dunn of Long Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Schock of Boulder, Colo., and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held this Friday at the Wilson funeral home in Winterset conducted by the Rev. Don Houghton and burial will be made in the Winterset cemetery.
