MACINNES, ESTHER EMELYN HOSKINS - age 89, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2003 at Little Creek Nursing Home where she resided since December. She was born May 24, 1914 in Earlham, Iowa.

Preceded in death by husband, Bill MacInnes sisters, Lois and Lucille Hoskins and Helen Billett and parents, Richard G. and Elfeeta Stribling Hoskins.

Esther is survived by her devoted caregiver and step daughter, Carol, and husband, Donny Armstrong of Grainger County, devoted friend, Mattie Lyons of Knoxville, step daughters, Megan Macinnes of Mass., Sue French of Tasmania, Australia, step sons, Mike Macinnes of Switzerland, Steve Macinnes of Vancouver, Canada, Mark Macinnes of New Mexico, cousins, Joyce Steward of Washington and Mary Gilderbloom of Ga., nieces, Helen Warren of Penn., Carolyn Press of Maryland, Marion Johnson of Iowa, numerous great nephews and nieces great-great nephews and nieces step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and friends.

Esther resided in the Buckingham Retirement Community in Knoxville with her husband, Bill Macinnes. Afterwards, she resided at Homewood Residence at Deane Hill. She was a member of First Friends Church of Knoxville. She lived most of her life in Los Angeles, Calif. with her sister, Lucille Hoskins where she was a legal assistant for a law firm for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling and times spent with her relatives and friends.

She moved to Knoxville when she married Bill Macinnes in 1995. She will always be remembered for her joyfulness, loving kindness and generosity to her family and friends.

The family will have a private memorial and gravesite service at Roaring Fork Baptist Church Cemetery near Gatlinburg, during the weekend of October 25, 2003.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to First Friends Church, 4325 Pinehurst Dr. Knoxville, Tenn.

Memorial Funeral Home, Maryville was in charge of the arrangements.
