Pg 2Mrs. Augusta Hartz Dies At 89 Years
Mrs. Augusta Hartz, longtime resident of Lee township died Saturday, Feb. 26, at a Winterset nursing home. She was 89 years of age.
Mrs. Hartz was the former Augusta Rosine Schroeder, daughter of Ernest and Pauline Schroeder. She was born near Lacona in Marion county, on Oct. 17, 1876.
She was married April 28, 1897, to August E. Hartz. Their early married life was spent on a farm near Milo. In 1910, the family moved to Madison county, living on a farm near Winterset for three years. They then moved to Lee township where the remaining 53 years of her life were spent.
She was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran church in Jefferson township.
Mrs. Hartz’ husband died in 1953. She is survived by three children --------, Emmett, and Glenn of near Booneville; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held March 1 from Trinity Lutheran church.
