Francis Earl McBride

Frank McBride, age 83, of McKinney, Texas, passed away July 16, 2007 in McKinney. He was born on September 2, 1923, in Winterset, Iowa, to Vernon Andrew and Isabella (Criss) McBride. He married Davie Darlene Dodson on December 21, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Mr. McBride was a lieutenant in the US Navy and served for 24 years. He served his country during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of the Silver Eagles Association, San Francisco Wing.

Mr. McBride was an old car enthusiast, having restored several Model A Ford roadsters, an MGB-GT and an Austin Healy 3000. He was very interested in geneology and spent time in libraries, old courthuses and cemeteries researching the McBride and Criss families. He was a craftsman when it involved woodwork and he made beautiful furniture.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Davie, son, Paul McBride and his wife Gail of Bridgeport, TX; daughter, Sheryl McBride and her husband Jim DeMersseman of Greeley, CO; 2 grandsons, sister, Darlene Barker and her husband Jim of Redding, CA; four nieces; three nephews; and numerous grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins.

Interment with full military honors at DFW National Cemetery.
