December 25, 1983 - October 27, 2012

Chance Bane, 28, of Waukee died Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 1st at the First Baptist Church in Winterset with burial to follow in the Winterset Cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, October 31st at Ochiltree Funeral Service & Aftercare, in Winterset; where family will be present to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorials in Chance’s name will be appreciated.

Chance Wesley Bane was born December 25, 1983 in Winterset, Iowa; the son of Ronald and Kimberly (McReynolds) Bane. He grew up in Winterset and was a 2002 graduate of Winterset High School. He went on to attend UNI where he received his BA and then went on to attend Des Moines University where he obtained his Masters as a Physician’s Assistant.

Chance worked as a Physician’s Assistant since 2008 and worked for Mercy Hospital as a cardiothoracic physician assistant.

In his spare time, Chance loved bull riding and rodeos. He was a member of the BOA (Bull Riders of America), MRCA (Missouri Rodeo Cowboys Association) and NFPB (National Federation of Professional Bull Riders). He also helped write board questions for the Physician’s Assistant Board Exams.

He also loved golfing and football, especially Nebraska Football.

Chance is survived by his mother, Kim Crase (Bob) of Urbandale; his father, Ronnie Bane (Donna) of Winterset; two brothers, Justin Bane (Tamara) of Winterset; Colton Bane of Ankeny; three nephews, Tage and Jensen Kaldenberg and Ty Bane and his dog, Bentley. He is also survived by grandparents, Forrest and Jackie McCuen of Patterson; Wanda and Jerry Bane of Waukee; Patty and Wilbur Rowe of Bedford, several stepsiblings, aunts, uncles, extended family and host of friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Heather Nicole Bane.
