Bruce C. Johnston, 79, of the 3400 block of Fleur Drive died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Mercy Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ the King Catholic Church, with burial at St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery at Cumming.

Mr. Johnston was born in Winterset and had lived in Des Moines since 1977. He had owned Johnston Automotive and Industrial in Spencer before retiring in 1978. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; a stepson, Bob Quinn of West Des Moines; a brother, Merle of Omaha; and two grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Southtown Funeral Home, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.
