Doris Eileen (Garmon) See passed away Saturday September 29 at her home in Carlisle.
Funeral Services for Doris will be held on Saturday October 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle, Iowa with Visitation from 9 a.m. prior to Services. Burial will be at the Scotch Ridge Cemetery.
Doris was born in Lamoni, Iowa and was raised in Truro, Iowa, where Doris graduated valedictorian in 1937. Doris attended AIB and studied stenography and Secretarial classes, graduating in 1938. Doris met her husband of 70 years at Meredith Publishing Co. Doris and Clarence were married at a courthouse in Bethany, Missouri on October 27, 1942. They were stationed at Eglin Field, Florida until December 6, 1945 where Doris worked on base for officers as a secretary. Doris and Clarence made their home in Des Moines until moving to Carlisle in 1957.
Doris is survived by her husband Clarence M. See of Carlisle, Iowa; two Daughters, Sandy Callahan of Madison, Wisconsin and Sharon See of Carlisle, Iowa; Two Grandchildren, Heather (Callahan) Knox (Curtis), Damon Reynolds; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Jacob Shelton and Olivia Grace Knox; six nieces, five nephews, one brother-in-law, Larry (Judy) See and one sister-in-law, Phyllis See Polson. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; John A. Garmon and Grace Olive (Fogler) Garmon; Brother; Clarence (Buzz) Garmon, Sister; Betty (Garmon) Adams, Brother-in-law, Charlie Adams; son-in-law; Charles C. Callahan, Mother-in-law; Edith (Backstrom) See, Sister-in-law, Virginia (See) Fritz, brother-in-law, Dale Fritz, brother-in-law, Raymond See and Russell See and Sister-in-law, Ellen See, Niece; Terri See.
