Herbert W. Wagner, 71, of Mercer, Mo., died of cancer Sunday at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Winterset Cemetery.

Mr. Wagner was born in Des Moines and had lived in Winterset and Indianola before moving to Mercer two years ago. He was a hotel manager.

Surviving are two sons, Randy Wagner of Des Moines and Wesley Wagner Hunt of West Des Moines; a daughter, Melody Millang, and two sisters, Bernice Longerbone and Josephine Cannon, all of Des Moines; a brother, Kenneth of Westminister, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.
