William Hamilton Arnold, 80, of Dallas Center died of a stroke Friday at Spurgeon Manor Care Center there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Brandt Funeral Home in Dallas Center, with burial at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Van Meter.

Mr. Arnold was born in Council Bluffs and had lived in Dallas Center more than 30 years. He was retired from Pioneer Hi-Bred Seed Corn Co., a Coast Guard veteran of World War II and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter and Trinity Men’s Club. He was a former Van Meter city council and school board member.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Gotch of Solon, Ohio, and Nancy Boston of Adel; a brother, Jack of Colorado; three sisters, Marjorie Patchin, Jeannie Dredge and Beatrice Cathcart, all of California; and four grandchildren.
