Gerald G. Harvey, 48, of DeSoto died of cancer Sunday at home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Van Meter, and burial will be in Trinity Cemetery.

Mr. Harvey was born in Des Moines and lived in Polk, Dallas, Warren and Madison counties all his life. He was a laborer for Forrest & Associate Inc. and a member of the building laborers union.

Surviving are three daughters, Brandi Harvey of Fremont, Neb., Raven Harvey of Indianola and Phoebe Johnston of Des Moines; a son, Glen of Van Meter; his parents, Gerald and Shirley Harvey of Indianola; four sisters, Jodine Smith of Van Meter, Sue Hutzell of Earlham, Frances Finney of Indianola and Trudy Harvey of Des Moines; two brothers, Mark and Doug, both of Des Moines; and a grandchild.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
