Betty Lou McKenzie, 68, of 800 S.E. Maury St. died of complications of a blood disorder Wednesday at Broadlawns Medical Center. Private services were held Saturday at Montpelier Cemetery in Patterson.

Mrs. McKenzie, a life-long Des Moines resident, was a homemaker. Surviving are three daughters, Marilyn McKenzie of Des Moines, Barbara Howell of Winterset and Janet Dillinger of Peru; her mother, Margaret Boozell of Des Moines; five sisters, Ida Dutton, Jane Davenport, Christina Armstrong and Sherry Boozell, all of Des Moines, and Judy Mericle of Corydon; two brothers, John Larison and Glen Larison, both of Des Moines; a half-brother, Donald Howe of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements were handled by Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
