William (Bill) James McKinley, 70, passed away surrounded by family and friends on Friday, Aug. 17, at The New Homestead Care Center in Guthrie Center.
No services are planned at this time. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the William McKinley Memorial Fund in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, Box 246, Stuart IA 50250.
William was born June 17, 1942, the son to Orville L. and Leona (Ball) McKinley. He grew up in the Ames are before settling in Casey, Iowa. He worked many years as a truck driver and farmed ground near Gilbert. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and collecting salt and pepper shakers from every area his job took him.
William is proceeded in death by his parents Orville and Leona McKinley; three sisters and one brother.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children: Bill (Christina) McKinley Jr. of Winterset, Doug (Mary Jo) McKinley of Jeffersonville, Ind., Phillip (Amy) McKinley of Davenport; three grandchildren; sister-in-law Nancy McKinley of Alden; special niece Karma (Charles) Calkins of Stevens Point, Wisc., and special friends John and Charlotte Greenbeck of Stuart and many nieces and nephews.
