Ralph Wight, Utica, Passes Wednesday; Rites On Saturday

Ralph Wight, 79, a retired stockman and rancher in the Utica country for 63 years, died at St. Joseph's hospital Wednesday at 10:20 a.m.

Wight was born at Wintersport, Iowa, April 19, 1868, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Wight. he and his parents and 12 brothers and sisters left Iowa on April 28, 1884 with 200 head of cattle, and settled near Utica on Aug. 4, 1884. Wight retired 10 years ago. He had been hospitalized for the last three years.

Surviving are 3 brothers, Fred of Joliet, Dick of Notus, Idaho, and William of Ten Mile, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Judith Duffield, Higbee, Mo., and Lizzie Tuggle, Pryor, Mont.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ora Wight, Utica and several nieces and nephews.

Ralph Wight -

Funeral services for Ralph Wight were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Creel chapel with the Rev. W. S. Traweek officiating. Burial was in the Philbrook cemetery, near Utica.

Pallbearers were Lear Flanigan, Herbert Goodell, Platt Belden, Ed Arnett, Dick Arnett, James Murphy.

Cly Fredrickson sang, 'The Old Rugged Cross' and 'In The Garden' with Mrs. Richard Lausch organist.

Surviving are three brothers, Fred of Joliet, Dick of Notus, Idaho and William of Ten Mile, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Judith Duffield, Higbee, Mo. and Lizzie Tuggle, Pryor, Mont.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Ora Wight, Utica and several nieces and nephews.
