The many friends of J.W. McClellan will be sorry to hear of his sudden death at Gate, Washington, Jan. 16th. Mr. McClellan was killed by a tree falling on him in a lumbering camp. He is a brother of M.T. McClellan, T.D. McClellan, and Mrs. Mattie Brassfield of this vicinity. Mr. McClellan was a resident here for many years and is well known here. The sympathy of the entire community is with the sorrowing relatives.
_________________Transcriber's note: The deceased was born in Madison County, Iowa in 1857 and left there for Kansas in the mid 1870s.
