May 5, 1930 - June 13, 2012Vi Brunner, 82, of Winterset died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Winterset Care Center North.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16 at Ochiltree Funeral Service; where a reception will be held at the funeral home immediately following the service.
Burial will be in the Winterset Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Friends of the Winterset Public Library.
Violet May Reifsteck was born May 5, 1930 in Winona, Minnesota; the daughter of Karl Frederick and Alta (Warrington) Reifsteck. She grew up in Winona and graduated from Winona High School in 1948. Her marriage to Donald James Brunner took place on July 3, 1948 in Rushford, MN and they settled in Hastings, MN where they raised their family.
Vi and Donald moved to Winterset in 1987 from Washington Court House, OH and prior to that had lived in Palmyra, MO. She was a homemaker most of her life but had also worked as a Hospital Ward Clerk in Springfield, Mo.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Winterset where she was an active member participating in many church activities. She was a member of the church’s UPW and participated in Church Women United. She was also a dedicated member of TOPPS.
Vi is survived by her children, Larry (Donna) Brunner of Endicott, NY; Jim (Joan) Brunner of Sabina, OH; Cheryl (Roger) Weltha of Hollister, MO; eight grandchildren (Matthew Brunner, Michelle (T.J.) Scott; Melissa (Bill) Matheney; J.B. Brunner; Nick Weltha; August (Shawna) Weltha; Betsy (Dallas) Blair and Maggie (Aaron Knapp) Weltha and four and a half great grandchildren (Chloe and Talon Scott; Alice Blair and Claire and Asher Weltha).
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990 and a grandson, Eric Brunner.
