John William McKenzie, 82, of 800 S.E. Maury St. died of a heart ailment Friday at Broadlawns Medical Center. Graveside services will be at noon Monday at Montpelier Cemetery in Patterson.

Mr. McKenzie was born in Dolliver and had lived most of his life in Des Moines. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; three daughters, Marilyn McKenzie of Earlham, Janet Dillinger of Peru and Barbara Howell of Winterset; a brother, Brighton of St. Louis, Mo.; two sisters, Mabel Smith of Des Moines and Irene Ridihalah of Portland, Ore.; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. today at Hamilton’s Funeral Home.
