Danny Joseph Ortiz Sr., 43, of 4200 Knob Hill Drive, died of cancer Saturday at home. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, with burial at Primitive Baptist Cemetery.

Mr. Ortiz was born in Des Moines and lived here most of his life. He was a retired carpenter.

Survivors, all of Des Moines, include his parents, Augustine and Wanda Ortiz, four sons, Danny Ortiz Jr., Tony Ortiz, Dustin Ortiz and Christen Plum; three daughters, Suzanna Ortiz, Tiffany Ortiz and Deanna Monahan; three brothers, Toby, James and Lonnie; a sister, Tina McDivitt; and three grandchildren.
