Byron Huffman was born April 18, 1870, near Winterset, and died very suddenly of apoplexy, near his home at Isanti, Minnesota, December 29, 1928, at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 11 days. He was a son of John and Amanda Huffman and was the tenth child of a family of twelve.
He spent his early life in Madison county and in 1894 moved to Adair county, with his mother and two brothers. In 1897 he was converted at the Hebron M. E. church. He was united in marriage to Lucy Mitchell, October 11, 1898. After farming in Adair county two years they moved near Perry. On November 15, 1913 a baby daughter, Treva Avis came to bless this home. In 1914, they moved to Henriette, Minnesota where he was employed by the Great Northern Railroad Co. They recently moved to Isanti, where he passed away.
He was a kind and loving husband and father and a good neighbor, always ready to lend a helping hand. His mother, father, two sisters, and one brother preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his loss his loving wife and daughter, Treva, age 15 years; three sisters and five brothers: Mrs. Mary Bardrick, Indianola; Geo. Huffman, Winterset; Lewis Huffman, Mitchellville; John Huffman, Omaha, Nebraska; Warren Huffman, Pacific Beach, California; Mrs. Clara Beal, Washita, Oklahoma; Mrs. Emma Bird, Des Moines, and Pat Huffman of Winterset, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2:30 O'clock, at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, with Rev. F. C. McCallon, of the Church of Christ, officiating.
