Laura D. Torrence, 88, of 3948 Eighth St. died of pneumonia Monday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Highland Park Funeral Home with burial at St. Charles Cemetery.

Mrs. Torrence was born in St. Charles and had lived in Des Moines for 50 years. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Cloud Room in Des Moines. She was a member of First Methodist Church in St. Charles.

Survivors include her husband, James, and a son, Jerry of New York City.
